Final project
In this project we got to pick any type of photography to shoot. I chose panning. Panning is when you use a certain fast shutter speed to capture clear action with the background blurred.
Art walk
surprising: The singing surprised me. A lot of it was A Capella.
Good: I loved seeing all the different work
portrait
This week we took pictures outdoors and in side in a lighted studio. When we took photos outside, we learned what to change to make our pictures better. I learned to change the white balance, and how to use the sun to my advantage. Usually when taking pictures outside we are told direct sunlight is bad, but today i learned how to work with it and make it look good. During shooting inside, i learned how to work with lighting to tell a story. We used reflectors and lights to cast shadows and light up certain parts of the face. Overall i learned how to compensate with what i was given an make my pictures great.
~white balance
In this activity we set our cameras to auto and were not allowed to change the white balance. Through taking multiple pictures of a white piece of paper in different settings, i noticed how much the lighting matters. The lighting inside completely changed the color of the paper. The shade made it blue, the school light made it orange, the pure sun was the most relative white color. This activity showed me how to change white balance and when it is needed to make my picture better. With our portraits, i would use this information to make the subject not too warm or too cold, just right so that it captures their true skin tone. I would use the kelvin scale (2500k being cold, and 10000k being hot) to get the best color.
David Hockney Montage:
Summary:
in this project we had to take multiple pictures of subject and puzzle them together to create a panorama like picture. The ideal montage had overlapping pieces and no empty spaces.
Motion project:
These photos were taken to so stopped motion, blurred motion and panning. With stop motion/sharp action, my ISO was between 800 and 400 because we were inside, the aperture was 4.5, and the shutter speed was 400. For blurred motion we were shooting at a 30th of a second to capture the action. And finally for panning, the shutter speed was 100 so it was fast enough to capture the car, but slow enough to capture motion.
sequential narrative:
In this unit, we were asked to take pictures in sequential order. We learned to put photos together to create a story and we learned more Photoshop skills
Summary:
During this unit we learned to take pictures for a purpose and to tell a story. I had to set up a scene and created a story in a photo.
Facts about me:
1: I play volleyball
2: my cousin and i have the same birthday
3: i have never been out of the country
4: many people in the class can roll their tongue like me
5: no one has double jointed arms like me

project summary:
This week in class we were asked to write down 3 facts about our selves. Then we came together in separate groups to combine facts to create a Kahoot. This activity was meant to help us get to know each other and see what we have in common with one another. This is good for this photography class so that if we get in groups we can come together with people we have thing in common with so we work well together, and we know things about each other.
